A Salt Lake City Woman Uses Reiki to Create Miracles of Healing in Her Family!

his is the dramatic story of Jenny Cahoon and her family as they have witnessed the magic of Reiki. Jenny recently took Lisa’s Reiki I/II class December 8 & 9, and more importantly, began to apply the Reiki principles of healing to her family. This is her story.

Jenny met Lisa Ross-Walker through a friend of a friend, and began receiving Reiki treatments from her. “I was impressed with everything about her, and with the Reiki,” Jenny said. After a few sessions, Lisa suggested that Jenny take a beginning Reiki class, so that she could do Reiki on her oldest daughter, Brittany, who is 16.

“Brittany has been through the ringer the last several years,” says Jenny, “And we have literally exhausted every medical treatment. When she was in the 4th grade, she lost feeling from her hip down in her left leg. To illustrate the extent of numbness, she once had a surgery where doctors removed a screw WHILE she was completely wide awake! She was unable to feel a thing. She also couldn’t move her toes, she had Drop Foot to to the point where she couldn’t bring her foot up, and was only able to walk with the assistance of a brace. It was very difficult and slow going. Worse still, the brace caused horrendous ulcers on her foot-such horrible sores that we finally took her to The Hyperbaric Medicine and Wound Treatment Center of Utah.” She had been going ever since to try to alleviate the sores. The family had tried surgery, hyperbarics, and even electric shock treatments. Nothing worked. In fact, things had gotten worse because doctors cut the wrong nerves and caused additional issues with incontinence and more. In desperation, before Lisa’s class, they had Brittany After Reikitried skin grafts and weren’t sure if those were going to work, either.

“I took Lisa’s class last month in December,” says Jenny excitedly, “well before Christmas. As soon as I learned how, I began sending Reiki to Brittany long distance from class. By the second day, Brittany was feeling pain in her leg. Instead of being alarmed, we were jubilant! She was feeling something in her leg for the first time in seven years!”

“Since then,” continues Jenny, “I have done distant healing Reiki on her every single day, and hands on Reiki at least once a week. The most amazing things have begun to happen. Brittany would call me from school, and say, “Mom, are you doing something? I can feel it!” Within just these past few weeks, her leg ulcers have completely cleared up, and she was even discharged from The Wound Center. Whereas the skin grafts generally take 8-10 weeks to heal, she was discharged from care after just three weeks! In addition, she has begun to be able to wiggle her toes – something she hasn’t been able to do for seven years! It’s a miracle.”

Other beautiful things have begun to happen. Brittany has spina bifida occulta, a deformity in the bones and spine, and teathered spinal cord syndrome, along with diabetes. For several years, not a day has gone by that she didn’t take Lortab or at least Ibuprofen. Now she’s gone off all pain medications and even Ibuprofen From the cut nerves, she had to have a catheter, and now she’s not using one at all during the day, which makes her very happy.

Just last year Brittany was diagnosed with a condition called Charcot, meaning that her bone had been disintegrating. The medication the doctors gave her for months hadn’t worked at all. Suddenly the x-rays showed that her calcium and her bones are regenerating. Her doctors are just amazed. “What have you been doing?” asked Dr. Beales yesterday. “My mom learned Reiki and she’s been doing it on me,” said Brittany. “I’ve heard of Reiki,” exclaimed Dr. Beales. “Continue doing it!” He shook his head in wonder.He might not be able to explain it, but all of the doctors are seeing great evidence of change within Brittany’s condition. She was fitted recently for a new brace, since her sores are gone, and unless she’s wearing a skirt or shorts, you can’t tell she’s even got it on, especially as she’s walking.

Now Brittany has been inspired and has registered to take Lisa’s next Reiki class so she can do Reiki on herself and on her friends! Many people have noticed her miraculous changes and several of her friends want to take Reiki, too.

“Our family has really been blessed with Reiki,” says Jenny, “and now I have my own table and a place in my room that is known as Jenny’s Reiki Place!”
